What is Green Tea?
Green Tea is a type of tea made solely with the leaves of Camellia sinensis, that has undergone minimal oxidation during processing. Green Tea originates from China and has become associated with many cultures in Asia from Japan to the Middle East.
Archeological evidence suggests that people have been consuming tea for over 500,000 years. Botanical evidence suggests that China and India were the first of the countries in the world to start cultivating tea. Today Billions of people are drinking tea around the world and now studies are suggesting that Green Tea (Camellia sinesis) has many health benefits.
There are a total of three main forms of tea; Green Tea, black tea and oolong tea. Each of these teas have a different method of processing. Green has the highest concentration of antioxidants.
